Generals lose 24-6 to Newton
COVINGTON — Shiloh moved
the ball effectively and played good defense in its opener Saturday

Gwinnett has 67 players ink on national signing day
While Air Force came in and swooped Champaign from Navy, the opposite almost happened to Glenn. The Shiloh running back was committed to Air Force, but took a visit to Navy two weeks ago. The Midshipmen made several visits to Georgia to see Glenn, but he confirmed his commitment to Air Force when he visited Colorado Springs the following weekend.
Glenn originally planned to be a dentist, but now has decided to major in aviation.
“I want to fly that new F-35,” Glenn said. “I’m gonna do a fly over one day before the (Shiloh) game. “

Gwinnett's growth translates into signing day success

Wilkes makes his mark with first signing class
When Keith Wilkes was the head coach at Carver High School in Winston-Salem, N.C., he typically had anywhere from 12 to 18 players sign college scholarships each year.
The first-year Shiloh head coach won't have nearly as many today, but the Generals will have the largest signing class in school history.
Shiloh will have six players sign football scholarships today, the most ever in the 25-year history of the program. The group is headlined by Cameron Whigham, who is headed to Ole Miss. The defensive end is the first major Division I signee for the Generals since Davey Pollack signed with Georgia in 2001.
Other signees include Kadeem Boyd (Louisberg College), Sejean Hart (Alabama State), Guy Holmes (Louisberg College) and Gerrard Stepp (Louisberg College). | |
